I come from the valley where the wild rivers flow,
Telling secrets of places that only I know.
I dance with the leaves in a golden-brown swirl,
And whisper soft greetings to each boy and girl.
I carry the scent of the rain-laden clay,
And chase the dark clouds of the winter away.
Through keyholes of houses I murmur and sigh,
Singing lullabies under the starry blue sky.
Sometimes I am gentle, a warm summer breeze,
Tickling the blossoms and shaking the trees.
Sometimes I am mighty, a storm loud and bold,
Sweeping the pathways with shivers of cold.
But whether a whisper or whether a roar,
I guide the free birds as they flutter and soar.
The voice of the earth, an invisible guide,
Always beside you, wherever you hide.
